Life of becoming an "OKU".

Hola peepo! Am so sorry for not updating my bloggie these days because so many things had happened to me recently. Almost couldn't cope with it, but thank gosh I'm able to pull it off and I'm here, to update my bloggie! :)

Yeah, as my title said it all. I'm an OKU now. But not for permanent of course. Most probably for 4 months? Or maybe longer like 9 months. It all depends on my recovery progress.

Say hello to my 'chicken drumstick'.
All wrapped up prepared to cook? LOL!

Yeah, that's me on the wheel chair.

Sigh. It was Monday, where I was in Taylor's working as one of the orientation leader. It was an awesome day indeed as everything went on smoothly for the orientation. After meeting with Miss Faith and other OLs', it was around 5 something in the evening. And I'm so glad that the rain had stopped. Then, I switched from my formal heels to Flipper. I walked quickly to the car park as I don't want to stuck in the traffic jam back home. The incident happened then. I FELL DOWN FROM STAIRS WHILE I WALKING TO THE CAR PARK. If I'm not mistaken, I literally ROLLED DOWN from the first step I stepped until the end of steps.

I was shocked but I quickly stood up to reach for help from students. Luckily there were other students approached me for help. My both legs were non-stop trembling until I managed to calm myself down. Then I realized my left leg couldn't move at all. Once I moved, it hurts badly. And my toe on the left leg was bent to other direction. I was freaked out that time, like really FREAK OUT!

The worst thing was, I tried to call my parents but none of them picked up my phone. Not even my brother and sister. I was panic and in the end, I called my cousin brother for help. He came to Taylor's and sent me to Sunway Hospital. I did my X-ray and patiently waited for the results. My dad and brother came after that.

Initially, I thought the results would be OKAY. *I used to admit into hospital quite frequently, and the results were pretty okay.* But the doctor came to my bed, and showed me the X-ray. He told me that I had 3 broken bones on my left leg! And he told me I had to go for a surgery. All of us were freaked out as we never encountered such a thing in our life. I asked the doctor whether is there any other solutions rather than undergo an surgery. He said NO. Then I burst into tears because the feeling of entering the surgery hall is so scary and I don't think I can cope with it. He said there would be certain risks as there are not just 1 broken bone, but 3 broken bones.

After that, my dad decided to transfer me to Damansara Jaya Specialist Centre to ask for other opinions, and it's nearer to my house compared to Sunway. But the service in DJ Specialist Centre was really BAD. We waited for few hours, till midnight. And none of the doctors approached us although we kept asking the nurse for doctor. Since it's already midnight, and the doctor from Sunway Hospital already put me in a temporary leg plaster, we went home instead and consulted another orthopedic the next morning.

Luckily the orthopedic - Dr Lee said there's no need to undergo a surgery for my case because my broken bones are still in the same position and there are possibilities for the bones to grow back on their own. I was relieved once I heard what Dr Lee told me. So he admitted me to Hospital Assunta for 2 nights and put me in a leg plaster for 1 month as well as arranged some physiotherapy sessions for me too.

And now, I'm already discharged from the hospital and resting at home. There is pain on and off, and sometimes the pain is unbearable until I have to take painkillers to stop the pain temporarily. Also, my left leg would be swollen for a few months because there is tones of blood in it due to the broken bones. The blood has nowhere to go, but to accumulate in my left leg. It's so heavy and difficult to move using crutches especially. I TELL YOU, the crutches are darn hard to use weyy! My armpit hurts badly, and I couldn't move much as I have to use a lot of energy to move from one point to another point.

It would be a LONG process to recover as my leg plaster has to change from time to time based on my recovery progress. So basically, my sister in charge of taking care my daily life including moving from one point to another point, bathing, eating etc. I'm so glad to have a good sister like her, and I really appreciate what she does for me. Thank you love.

  5. Don't call yourself an OKU okay ): well, get well soon and don't skip your physiotherapy sessions hehehe actually I was surprised that you didn't undergo surgery since there's 3 broken bones, but if it's still align, I guess it's fine. Swollen leg is normal, sleep with your leg elevated then (: Btw, your armpits shouldnt hurt by using the crutches, you sure you're using it correctly? :O

    1. yeah, supposed to undergo surgery but the broken bones are still align, so there's no need for surgery, yet. Hmm, i have no idea, because my hands don't have enough energy to hold the crutches and my body weight are all on the crutches. :(
